Unit 1

First Peter 3:15 tells us to always be ready to give an answer when asked about our faith. In this module, the children will memorize a paraphrased version of the Apostle's Creed, the Books of the Bible and more than a dozen memory verses...and have FUN while they are learning! The lessons include the Trinity, Salvation, Water Baptism, the Holy Spirit and Communion.

GOAL: the kids will know what they believe, why they believe, and how to share that belief with others.

Unit 2

BE-ATTITUDES
We spend a lot of time teaching kids to BECOME...let's focus on equipping kids to BE who God says they already ARE! The BE- Attitudes are all about who God wants us to BE on the inside; they are HEART ATTITUDES. When teaching children, our emphasis must be on the heart, not on outward compliance to rules. And, we must continually remind children that God will HELP them! There is power available to them to live as a disciple of Jesus. There is no possible way to truly live the Christian life, or to fulfill the eight BE- Attitudes, with human effort. (Without Him we can do nothing! John 15:5)

GOAL: Kids learn to BE who God says they already ARE; and they will learn the "Be-Attitudes" and will be able to say which number each one is!

TROUBLE
It is SO IMPORTANT that children know what to do when they are in trouble! Most inner pain is the result of wounds that happened in childhood. Let's help children know what to do when pain comes - when they are hurt verbally or physically; when they are disappointed or grief. Let's help children to grow up whole inside, not broken. They might always remember what happened, but they certainly don't need to carry the pain. THIS SERIES has the potential to be ETERNALLY SIGNIFICANT in the lives of the children in your care!

GOAL: Kids learn where to run when they are in trouble, what to do when their heart hurts, and how power-filled their praise is!

HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is our Teacher, Helper, Comforter, and He helps us to pray. In this module the children will learn that the Gift of the Holy Spirit is for children (Acts 2:39). They will learn that hearing God's voice should be a way of life for Christians. (John 10:27 sheep who recognize the Shepherd's voice!) Children should EXPECT God to communicate with them, and know how to recognize His voice. The children will learn to receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit by asking; and that included in the gift is the ability to "pray in the Spirit." They don't have to, but they CAN - it's part of the gift! Lesson #4 gives instructions on how to lead children into experiencing the fullness of the Spirit and can easily be adapted for your church's specific doctrine.

GOAL: The kids will learn about, and RECEIVE, some amazing things INSIDE the GIFT of the Spirit.

Unit 3

BUILD
In this 4 week module the children will learn that a great life doesn't just happen, it needs to be BUILT; and the way to do that is follow God's Blueprint, the Bible. God's ways are the BEST ways - and by obeying God's ways, we will have a strong, long happy life! In this module they will learn four Memory Verses plus a fun version of the Ten Commandments.

GOAL: Kids learn that they are like "houses" that need to be built strong. They will learn the importance of obedience and following instructions along with the "Ten Command-Meants" (because God meant it!).

SELF-CONTROL
One of the best lessons that we can teach kids is self-control, and the best way I have found to teach that...is to tell kids they are the BOSS! :) Kids aren't the boss of their parents, or teachers or caregivers...but they ARE the boss of themSELVES - their thoughts, feelings, words and actions. This is how important the Bible says self- control is: "Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city." (Pro 16:32 NIV)

GOAL: Kids get some great tools to help them control their THOUGHTS, FEELINGS, WORDS and ACTIONS.

FRUIT of the SPIRIT

The Fruit of the Spirit is exactly that - the Fruit of the SPIRIT!! They are God qualities! This series focuses on kids LOVING Jesus and learning about His goodness, patience etc - so they will WANT to stay close to Him - and as a result, the Fruit will grow in their lives! And the opposite is also true. When we find ourselves WITHOUT love, patience, kindness, self-control...that likely means we AREN'T close to Him...but we can easily change that.

GOAL: The kids will LOVE Jesus and WANT to stay close to Him - and as a result, the Fruit will grow in their lives. (Fruit doesn't "strive" to grow!)

Unit 4

PRAYER
In Matthew 18: 3 and Luke 18:17 Jesus said we must come to Him like children; we need child-like faith! So, in this six week module about prayer, we don't necessarily need to inspire children to have faith, we need to equip them with some prayer tools. One of the greatest tools we can give them is to pray using God's Words, not just our own. First John 5:14 says that "if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us." Of course it's hard for us to know God's will - what He wants to do in a given situation - BUT we DO KNOW what the BIBLE says! We know the words that Jesus spoke - and if Jesus said it...if it's in the Bible - then THAT is His will!!! So when we pray - let's use GOD'S WORDS!!!

GOAL: Kids learn the Lord's Prayer; they learn that prayer is talking and LISTENING to God. They learn that their prayers are powerful, how to pray with faith and persistence and how to PRAY using GOD'S WORDS.

EVANGELISM
Hopefully the kids in your church have received Jesus as their Saviour and are confident that they will spend eternity with Him. But - do they know how to share the Good News with other people? Are they prepared to lead someone else to Jesus?! Over the next 6 weeks they will be empowered and equipped to fulfill the "Great Commission." They will be ready to GO - into all of their world sharing the Gospel using 5 colours...

GOAL: That every child in your church will know Jesus as Savior and that they are able to confidently share the Gospel with others.
